Merideth Mastio (Levita)

Meridith Levita, 48, of Elburn, Illinois passed away peacefully Wednesday May 3, 2006 at her home after a tumultous, but courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on December 8, 1957 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of Dr. Gerald and Barbara Mastio.

Meridith graduated from Monmouth College in 1980, cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Social Psychology. She was a recipient of the Mortar Board Outstanding Women Award as well as a member of the honor society of Alpha Lambda Delta and Sigma Omicron. Meredith belonged to Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.

She went on to receive a master's degree in Counseling Psychology in 1982 from George Williams College. In 1984 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, Joe in Oak Park. Meredith was most recently employed for the past 10 years with United Parcel Service, but it was in raising her family that she was so devoted.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph; six children, Nicholas, Natalie, Lindsay, Jacob, Jay and Joseph; her mother, Barbara Mastio of Sugar Grove; her father, Dr. Gerald Mastio of Olney; two brothers, David Mastio and wife, Debbie of St. Charles and Steve Mastio and wife, Gail of St. Charles.

Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery in Geneva
