Chad L. Koertge, 66, of Parkersburg, Illinois, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023.  Chad was born April 27, 1957 in Olney, Illinois, the son of George and Norma Lou (Morrison) Koertge.

For many years, Chad operated a dairy and grain farm. He was a beloved grandpa of twelve and loved to fish with his grandkids. He loved his dog, Jack, his cats, and his raccoon, Rosy, who frequently came to his house for crackers. Some of his favorite things included tinkering on his projects, eating any kind of dessert, buying pizza for all the grandkids, riding his side by side, and generally just spending time with his kids and grandkids.

Chad is survived by his daughter, Heidi Hawkins and husband Ryan of Parkersburg, IL; daughter, Heather Longbons and husband Austin of Albion, IL; grandchildren, Niyah, Wyatt, Elijah, Asher, Violet, Sawyer, and Iris Hawkins, and Alena, Elyse, Alexis, Evany, and Bennett Longbons; mother, Norma Koertge of Parkersburg; sisters, Cheryl Taylor, Angela (Ted) Davis, and Trina (Scott) Shipman; brother, Todd (Tawny) Koertge; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Koertge Jr.; and infant granddaughter, Clara Hawkins.

A visitation for Chad will be held on August 12, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
