Kathleen Marie Ginder Compton, 57, of Olney, died at 10:04 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2014, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.  Funeral services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney with Father Bill Rowe officiating.  Burial in Crest Haven Memorial Park.

Mrs. Compton was born February 13, 1957, in Olney, the daughter of Leland Joseph and Donna Lou (Woods) Ginder. She married Robert "Scoop" Compton on June 8, 1997, at First United Methodist Church. He survives.

Kathy enjoyed socializing with friends and family. She enjoyed spending time with children. Kathy had worked with the mentally disabled and continued to visit with a few of her clients with whom she had created long-term relationships. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Robert "Scoop" Compton, and several aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents.
