Collision Kills Former Olney Man

A former Olney man was killed in a head-on collision at 8:48 p.m. Tuesday, near Meadowbrook in Madison County.

Scott DiCiro, 27, of Alton was eastbound on Illinois 140 when his car skidded into the westbound lane and struck a vehicle driven by Ronald J. Vieth of Edwardsville, according to Illinois State Police. Authorities said DiCiro had passed several eastbound cars and was braking for a slow-moving vehicle when he lost control.

Vieth was in satisfactory condition Wednesday in Oliver C. Anderson Hospital, Maryville.

Scott Charles Anthony DiCiro, 27, Alton, formerly of Olney died at 9:42 p.m., April 2, 1985,  near Meadowbrook in Madison County, in an automobile accident.

Services in the Memorial Chapel of the Summers Funeral Home with Father Frederick D. Daugherty presiding. Burial at Crest Haven Memorial Park.

Mr. DiCiro was born, June 15, 1957, in Berlin, Germany, the son of Col. Charles M. and Magda M. (Demline) DiCiro.

He was a management trainee for Shoney's in St. Louis. He was affiliated with the St. Albans Episcopal Church; a graduate of Westminister College in Fulton, Mo. in 1980 and a member of the Delta Tau Delta.

He is survived by his parents.
