James E. Fleming

James Edward "Jim" Fleming, 67, went to be with his Lord on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital. Jim was born March 14, 1956 in Olney, Illinois, the son of Charles David and Wilma Nadine (Jennings) Fleming.

He married Ronda Leist on November 26, 1983. Jim moved to Evansville, Indiana from Olney where he began his career as a mechanic at Brandeis Machinery, retiring from there after 15 years. He joined the Evansville Regional Airport Maintenance Department where he retired in 2020 after a 29-year career. Jim loved God and his family with a servant heart. He was an active member of Centenary United Methodist Church. He enjoyed taking trips on the motorcycle, helping on Fleming Farms, and "going wherever Ronda told him to go."

Jim is survived by his wife Ronda, of Evansville; daughter Rachel (Andrew) Fulton, of Cincinnati, OH; son Brian Fleming, of Evansville; brother Kenneth (Terry) Fleming, of Olney; step-brother Wayne Baker, of Colorado Springs, CO; step-brother Jim (Sherri) Baker, of Olney; mother-in-law Janet Leist, of Olney; brother-in-law Marc (Patty) Leist, of Calhoun, IL; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; and friends-like-family of over thirty years, Kim & Scott Anderson.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Raleigh Baker; step-sister-in-law, Marsha Baker; father-in-law, Ron Leist; and several aunts and uncles.

A visitation will be held for friends and family on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 from 5:00-7:00pm at Centenary United Methodist Church in Evansville. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Centenary with burial immediately following at Centenary Cemetery. An additional visitation will be available one hour prior to the service.
