Jeffrey L. "Jeff" Schmidt, 60, of Olney, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.

Jeffrey was born June 17, 1954 in Newton, Illinois, the son of Ralph J. and Norma Jean (Short) Schmidt.  He married Nance Lee Gibson and she precdes him in death.  They were married for several years and remained friends after their divorce.

Jeffrey was an appliance repairman at the Appliance Plus Store in Olney for 25 years. He later was a machinist at M and M Pump & Supply for several years.  Jeff's greatest joy was spending time with his family.

He is survived by his daughters, Briget Wendling and husband Michael of Calhoun, IL and Brooke Schmidt and fiancee David Stoll of Claremont, IL; four grandchildren, Jacob Wendling, Jonah Wendling, Darren Schmidt, and Sierra Schmidt; brothers, Gene Schmidt and Tim Schmidt; sisters, Jan McVaigh and Judy Madsen; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and previous wife, Nance.

Per his request, cremation rites were accorded; No services will be held.
