Ernest W. Witsman, 80, of Olney, died Wednesday, October 13, 2004 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Ind.  Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery, Olney with full military rites performed.

Mr. Witsman was born on September 11, 1924 in Dundas, the son of Watson and Ruth (Lewis) Witsman. He married Ethel Pauley on September 18, 1945. She survives.

He retired as owner/operator of Witsman Insurance in Olney after almost 50 years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Olney. He was a World War II U.S. Marine Corps veteran and served in the southwest Pacific for 25 months. He was a member of many civic organizations. He was the WVLN Man of the Year in 1968.

Mr. Witsman is survived by his wife, Ethel Witsman of Olney; a daughter, Dee Carlton of Bloomington; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
