Juanita E. (Poland) Walters, 96, of Findlay, Ohio, formally of Olney, Illinois, passed away Friday, December 9, 2022 at The Willows at Tiffin in Tiffin, Ohio.  Juanita was born on January 22, 1926 in Richland County, Illinois, the daughter of William H. and Beulah M. (Cullison) Poland. She married W.R. "Mike" Walters on July 27, 1946 in Olney, and he preceded her in death on November 18, 2005.

Juanita had a servant’s heart for God. Through the years she enabled many senior citizens to get to church, by picking them up. She loved her family. Her interests through the years included flowers and flower gardening, cooking, and sewing. She loved to decorate for the holidays. She loved to travel—she and Mike travelled to many countries and states in their retirement years.

Juanita is survived by her daughter, Jo Ann Purnell and her husband David, of Tiffin, OH; son, Terry Lee Walters and his wife Laura of Peoria, AZ; grandchildren Michael Shane Walters of Lima, Ohio, and Kate Layer and her husband Jacob of Laramie, WY, as well as two great- granddaughters Tori and Ivy Walters of Lima, OH; sister, Millie Parnell and her husband Rex, of Olney; sister, Julie "Judy" Jones of Redlands, CA, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister, Evelyn Von Almen. Also preceding her in death were two brother-in-laws Ed Jones and Delbert Von Almen, as well as her niece Emily Davis.

A funeral service will be held for Juanita at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney, with a visitation beginning one hour before service time at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Crest Haven Memorial Park in Claremont.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Olney Free Methodist Church, 223 West Cherry Street, Olney, Illinois.
