Bill Miller

William A. "Bill" Miller, 46, of Camargo, formerly of Olney died Thursday August 5, 1971 at the Mercy Hospital in Urbana, following open heart surgery.

Funeral services in Village Grove and interment in Camargo Cemetery.

The deceased was born in Olney on February 23, 1925, son of  Arthur and Ruth Goodwin Miller. He was married to Norma Stadge, who survives.

He was a graduate of Olney High School and played football during his student days. He was a veteran of World War II. He served for a time as an Olney City Patrolman and as a deputy sheriff during George Shipley's term as sheriff. In recent years he had been employed as an electronic technician at the University of Illinois in Urbana.

He is survived by three sons, Stephen Miller of Springfield, Mark of Effingham and Mike at home; one daughter, Mrs. Billy (Ruth) Correll of Springfield; a stepson, David Stadge of Washington, D.C.; three grandchildren; his father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Miller of Olney; three brothers, James Miller of St. Joseph, Mich., Robert Miller of Galion, Ohio and State Police Officer, Joe Miller of Olney and a half-brother, George Smith of Tucson, Arizona.

His mother, Ruth Goodwin Miller passed away on August 5, 1956.
