Debra Jean (Berry) Akins, 67, of Paris, Illinois, formerly of Olney, Illinois, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Twin Lakes Rehab and Health Care in Paris. She was a devoted homemaker and had also worked as a home health care provider.

She was born May 19, 1955, in Olney, the daughter of Raymond Keith and Marlene (Griggs) Berry. She married Jack R. Akins on March 15, 1981, in Paris, and he survives.

Other survivors include her mother, Marlene Berry of Olney; two children, Christopher Akins and Carmen (Nick) McConchie both of Paris; a brother, Tim Berry of Olney; and two sisters, Judy Propst and Marla Weatherford both of Olney. She was preceded in death by her father, Keith Berry, and a brother, Vince Berry.

Debra will be remembered as a loving and caring person who loved spending time with her family.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2022, at Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Templeton Funeral Home in Paris.
