Jack Alexander - Class Of 1973 VIEW PROFILE

Jack Alexander

The following was sent via Facebook Messenger to “Class of 73” and Friends:

"Hi there this is Julia [Ratcliffe] Alexander (wife of Jack Alexander) wanted to let the Class of 73 know that Jack passed away Sunday May 21, 2023 @ home."

He committed suicide- he had lots of chronic back pain and nerve damage. Do u think u could post a little note about him? We were looking forward to the class results [reunion] this year.

Julia's recent note, they will not be having a funeral or service for Jack, per his wishes.

Julia,

So sad to hear this.  Sorry for your loss.  I guess we never truly know the pain within a person.

Bless you and family

Julia, I am so sorry for your loss and for Jack's suffering. It would have been nice to see him at the reunion after all this time.  My last meaningful time with Jack was at U of I.  We would play some tennis together.  Actually, Jack would play tennis and I would just try to hit the ball.  It was a great stress reliever for me and was grateful for Jack putting up with my limited ability. Rest in peace, Jack.

Jack was always a fun guy to talk to.  I am so sorry to hear of the medical issues and inability to resolve the pain.  I was looking forward to the 50th class reunion coming up in Sept and the chance to catch up with some of our classmates.  I know he is at peace now but the world is a little sadder without him.  RIP Jack.

Julia, so sad to hear of this tragedy. Jack and I had many classes though the years, in fact, I went by John in fourth grade because there were 3 or 4 Jacks in the class. He was always fun to be around. I pray for you and the family that you may find comfort in this time of grief.

Julia,

I was saddened to hear about Jack's pain and now your loss of a kind, gentle person we all knew Jack to be. I believe he was quite quiet but friendly and well mannered.

Sending my prayers as I wish you and all that you love the blessings of Christ Jesus.

Julia,

I knew Jack only in classes we had together. I sat next to him often because of our last names being close alphabetically. He was always friendly to me and a very intelligent individual. I do remember he played tennis and was very good at it. Hold on to the good times and memories you shared with him. I have no doubt that he left a legacy of kindness and love for those he knew. God Bless
