Kathie Lynn Westerman, 50, of McAllen, Texas went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ Friday, September 27, 2002 at Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento, Calif.  She and her husband, Terry were vacationing in southern California prior to this catastrophic event.  Funeral services at Baptist Temple in McAllen.  Interment at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.

Mrs. Westerman was born March 30, 1952 in Evansville, Ind. to Ollie and Margie Houchin.

She found the greatest joys of her life by being a godly wife, mother and grandmother.  She served the Lord through ministries that touched the lives of children, women and single adults throughout her life.  She was a faithful servant to her community through the ministries of Baptist Temple of McAllen, Texas, where her husband is a staff pastor.  Kathie has touched countless lives and will be missed by those whom she loved, served and mentored.

Mrs. Westerman is survived by her parents, Ollie and Margie Houchin of Olney; a grandmother, Anna E. Houchin of Evansville, Ind.; her husband, Terry Westerman of McAllen, Texas; three daughters, Amie Bennett of Tyler, Texas, Sara Gunnels of Hillsboro, Texas and Kelly Westerman of McAllen, Texas; three granddaughters and two grandsons; two sisters, Julie Thorton of McAllen, Texas and Lorie Houchin of Plano, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Eddie Houchin and baby boy Houchin.
