Cheryl J. Tedford, 54, of rural Newton, died Wednesday March 6, 2002 at her residence in rural Jasper County.  Burial in Dundas Cemetery.

Mrs. Tedford was born on August 9, 1947 in rural Jasper County, the daughter of Manferd and Jeanene (Baker) Burgener. She married John Tedford at First Assembly of God Church in Olney on July 18, 1970. He survives.

She was a homemaker, a member of Jasper County Women's Farm Bureau Committee, past member of First Assembly of God Church in Olney and a current member of Olney Southern Baptist Churh.

Mrs. Tedford is survived by her husband, John Tedford of Newton; a son, Tim Tedford and his wife Jennifer of Dundas; a daughter Amy Tedford of Dallas, Texas; her father, Manferd Burgener of Olney; and a sister, Carol James and her husband Roger of Dundas.

She was preceded in death by her mother and grandmother.
