Roger Cazel

Roger A. Cazel, 55, of Kalkaska, Mich., died Sunday December 15, 2002 at his home surrounded by his family.  Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mr. Cazel was born on August 19, 1947 in Olney, the son of Denzel and Norma (Burgener) Cazel. He married Julie Brandon on August 26, 2000. She survives.

He had been a resident of Kalkaska, Mich. since moving from Richmond, Mich. in 1976. He was employed by Consumers Energy for 35 years and was the secretary-treasurer of Twin Birch Men's Golf League and was actively involved in community service projects.

Mr. Cazel is survived by his wife, Julie Cazel of Kalkaska, Mich.; three daughters, Jennifer Weeks and her husband, Layne of Bellaire, Mich., Andrea Berger and her husband, Brian of Kalkaska, Mich. And Melissa Cazel of Livonia, Mich.; a step-daughter, Jessica Miller of Rapid City, Mich.; three grandchildren, Hannah Weeks of Bellaire, Mich., and Abbigail Cazel and Bradley Berger, both of Kalkaska, Mich.; his mother, Norma Cazel of Richmond, Mich.; two sisters, Linda Sartin of Kentucky and Kathey Newsome and her husband, Ed of Richmond, Mich.; a brother, Gerald Cazel and his wife, Sandy of Memphis, Mich.; and dear friends Dick and Toots Burkhart of Kalkaska, Mich.

He was preceded in death by his father, Denzel and a grandson, Joshua Cazel on September 4, 1996.
