Ex-Olney Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash

State Police today reported that Ronald J. Wickham, 27, of Gaylord, Michigan was killed on M-72 West of Sunset Trail in Kalkaskia County early this morning when he lost control of his motorcycle, while passing a car, fell, and struck a guard rail. The accident occurred at 12:45 a.m.

Ronald Joe Wickham, 27, son of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Wickham of Olney, died as a result of injuries suffered while riding a motorcycle early Friday morning, September 1, 1972, near Kalkaska, Mich., where he had made his home for the last five months.

Mr. Wickham was born in Olney, October 24, 1944 and graduated from the Richland County Schools, graduating from East Richland High School in 1964.

He was united in marriage with Linda Thomas in September of 1964.

Before moving to Kalkaska to work with Cedco Drilling Co., he worked at the International Shoe Co. in Olney.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; two daughters, Christa and Shari Lynn at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William E. Wickham of Olney; two brothers, Richard of Riley, Ind. and Randy of Olney; a maternal grandmother, Mrs. Georgia Musgrove of Sumner and several aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Wickham and his maternal grandfather Mr. Carl Musgrove.
