Everett "Gene" Wyatt, 79, of Olney passed away Thursday Ocober 1, 2009 at his residence in Olney.  Services at Christian Church of Olney with Pastor Steve Greiner officiating. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney with full military rites performed by Olney veterans.

Mr. Wyatt was born July 20, 1930 in Richland County, the son of Everett A. and Lora (Gertsch) Wyatt. He married Marilyn Sue Maas. She survives.

He retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Houston, Texas and moved back to the Olney area in 2004. He attended McKendree College and served his country in the Korean War. He was stationed in Texas where he spent more than 50 years after his time in the service. Those who knew Gene know that he was a man of his word. He loved to help people know the Lord and spent much of his time sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. He was an active member of Christian Church of Olney and Kingdom Builders.

Mr. Wyatt is survived by his wife, Marilyn Sue Wyatt of Olney; daughter, Debbie Rogers and her husband Ronnie of Madisonville, Texas; daughter, Cathy Rowell and her husband, Ronnie of New Caney, Texas; daughter, Cindy Mayfield and her husband, Jay of Houston, Texas; daughter, Natasha Benton and her husband, John of Olney; daughter, Tara Stallard and her husband, Greg of Noble; son, Eugene Wyatt of New Caney, Texas and son, Dan Nicholas and his wife, Cari of Lafayette, Colo; daughter-in-law, Glenda Nicholas of Porter, Ind; brother, Bernard Wyatt and his wife, Mary Faye of Mt. Carmel; sister, Shirley Moseley of Eustace, Texas; 26 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Mark and brothers, Bill and Jim.
