Chester Orville Hayes, 70, of New Boston, Texas,  died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002, in a Dallas hospital. Graveside services in Read Hill Cemetery, New Boston.

Mr. Hayes was born Sept. 4, 1932, in Olney, Illinois, son of Chester and Elsie V. Hayes. He was retired from Red River Army Depot, a 32 nd degree Mason of New Boston Lodge 69, and a Korean War Air Force veteran.

Survivors include three sons, Kenneth Hayes of Graham, Texas, and Terry Lee Hayes and Billy Joe Hayes of Lubbock, Texas; three daughters, Vicky Lynn Hayes of Graham, Debra Kae Hobbs of Alabama and Stella Louise Prichard of New Boston; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
