Betty JoAnn Harmon, 74, of Olney, beloved wife of Gene Harmon, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt died Thursday, January 4, 2007, at Burgin Manor in Olney.  Funeral services at First Baptist Church in Olney. Burial in Crest Haven Memorial Park near Claremont with Reverend Brett Best officiating.

Mrs. Harmon was born April 10, 1932, in Robinson, the daughter of Kenneth E. and Elizabeth Gertrude (Langley) Gower. She married Harvey Eugene "Gene" Harmon on May 26, 1951, in Olney. He survives.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Olney, Richland Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and was a Big Brothers Big Sisters mentor. She will be sadly missed by family and friends.

Mrs. Harmon is survived by her husband, Gene, of Olney; daughters, Carol Jones, and her husband, Steve, of Centralia, and Judy Jenkinson, of Spokane, Wash.; brothers, Kenneth Gower, and his wife, Janet, of Scottsboro, Ala., Joseph Gower, and Vicki Ralston, of Olney; sisters, Kathryn Miller, and her husband, Gerald, of Olney, and Barbara S. Totten, of Denver, Colo.; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and infant son, John David.
