Martha E. Rodrick, age 79 of Landes, IL, passed away Monday, June 18, 2012 in Olney, IL at Burgin Manor. She was born December 8, 1932 in Olney to Henry and Elsie (Bogart) Gillaspie. Martha married Loren LaVerne Rodrick, and he preceded her in death in January of 2008.

Martha had worked at Brown’s Shoe Factory and Tressler’s Dime Store in Olney. She had also attended the Landes United Methodist Church. Martha was a big fan and supporter of the BTHS Bulldogs and RHHS Salukis, especially basketball and football.

Surviving family includes: two sons- Richard Rodrick of Landes and Douglas Rodrick of Oblong: one sister- Claudine Bunn of Olney: three grandchildren- Robin Davidson of Casey, Chauncey Rodrick of Bridgeport, and Stacey Rodrick of Olney: and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents (Henry and Elsie Gillaspie), her husband (Loren LaVerne Rodrick), two brothers (Max and Marion), one half-sister (Helen Fullop), and one son (Charles “Chuck” Rodrick).

A graveside service will be held for Martha E. Rodrick at the Waggoner Cemetery north of Chauncey, IL.
