Richard Glenn Enochs, 45, of Charleston, a native of Olney, died unexpectedly Sunday, March 5, 1978 in Charleston in Pemberton Hall on the campus of Eastern Illinois University.

He was born in Olney, son of Glenn and Mary Jane Gaddy Enochs, and graduatede from Olney Township High School in 1950.

He received his degrees, bachelors, masters and specialist in education from Eastern Illinois University. He also served two years in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Enochs was Superintendent of the school districts at Westfield and Dietrich, leaving Dietrich in 1965 to become Assistant Dean of Housing at Eastern Illinois University.

He was a member of the Christian Church and the Westfield Masonic Lodge.

Surviving are his wife, the former Doris Jean Dunkirk; four daughters, Mrs. Warren (Kathy) Farris of Mattoon, Susan Enochs, Lorrie Enochs, and Julie Enochs all of Springfield; and a brother, Dennis Enochs of Olney.

Services at Harper-Swickard Funeral Home, Charleston, with burial in Hillsboro.
