Clara Jane Bailey, 71, of Olney died Friday April 18, 2003 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.  Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney.

Mrs. Bailey was born on December 19, 1931 in Richland County, the daughter of Charles Landis and Esther (Hoel) Benton. She married Bruce N. Bailey on August 15, 1954 in Olney. He preceded her in death on June 18, 1987.

She was a registered nurst at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Ind. and Community Hospital in Indianapolis, Ind. where she started the Hook Rehabilitation Unit, Division of Community Hospital East.

Mrs. Bailey is survived by a son, Brian Russell Bailey of Olney; a daughter, Rebecca Lynn Sandlin of Fort Wayne, Ind.; three sisters, Virginia Weiler and her husband, Byron, Jean Schrey and her husband, Kenneth and Charlene Diel and her husband, Gerald all of Olney; a brother, Robert Benton and his wife, Jane of Olney; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
