Elva Jean (Smith) Dillon, age 79, of the Denning Community in San Augustine County, passed from this life Friday evening, December 11, 2015, in Denning, Texas.

Jean was born to Elva (Pugh) and Tom L. Smith on February 1, 1936, in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was a retired member of the San Augustine Garden Club, and a member of the San Augustine Historical Society. She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in San Augustine.

She is survived by: son, Tom Dillon of San Augustine; daughters, Twila Thomas and her husband, Russell of Denison and Tamara Ludington of Vincennes, Indiana; grandchildren  Leah Thomas; Daniel Williams; Gabriel Williams; Noah Williams and Daisy Cardinal.

Funeral Mass held in the St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in San Augustine with Father Maria Susai Avual officiating. Burial in the St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in San Augustine.
