Russell Alvin Scranton, 66, of Olney died Wednesday April 22, 1998 at his residence.  Services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. Burial at Haven Hill Cemetery with full military rites at graveside.

Scranton was born January 22, 1932 in Olney, the son of Wes C. and Irma F. (Gardener) Scranton.

He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and a member of the VFW in Olney.

He is survived by two brothers, Donald Scranton of Bridgeport and Paul Kenneth Scranton of Creal Springs; and one sister, Dorothy Williams and her husband, Hansel of White Water, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lucille.
