Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Rolla Morgan and Cecil Mary (Stump) Morgan, first wife Dorothy (“Bunny”) Flowers Morgan, sister Phyllis Toliver (Wid), stepson Don Syester, and son-in-law Peter Morin.

Eddie was born and raised in Olney, Illinois. Eddie lived a life of honesty, curiosity and, most of all, humor. He was always ready with a huge grin, a twinkle in his eye and a good joke. He was very proud of his days working on a barge on the Ohio River, his time in the Army during Korea, and returning to Olney to make a living building beautiful homes.

He was born into a family with a love of motorcycles and spent nearly his entire life riding them, Harley Davidsons when he was young, then Honda TL trials dirt bikes with his family. He then transitioned to Honda Gold Wings, and proceeded to tour all over the United States, even into Canada around Lake Superior. He became one of the earliest members of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association, a charter member of Indiana Chapter D, and was the inaugural recipient of the “Good as Gold” award, created in his honor. When it was time to give up the bike, they continued traveling with a camper, visiting nearly every state and National Park. Then, when finally giving up the camper, they became “snow birds” spending the winters in Florida.

Services for Eddie will be on Thursday, January 25, 2024. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at Greiner’s Funeral Home in Terre Haute, Indiana. Burial will be in Olney, Illinois at a later date.
