Julia Marie Blank, 75, of Olney, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at her residence.  Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Olney.

Mrs. Blank was born on April 19, 1933, in Olney, the daughter of James A. and Bertha M. (Kuhl) Herman. She married Donald S. Blank on March 5, 1957. He survives.

She graduated as a Registered Nurse from St. John's School of Nursing in Springfield in 1954. She graduated from the School of Anesthesia at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis and was certified as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist in 1957. She practiced anesthesia at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, at Clay County Hospital in Flora, at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson and at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, retiring in 1998. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney.

Mrs. Blank is survived by her husband, Donald S. Blank, of Olney; daughters, Jane Blank and her husband, Rich Siil, of Chicago, Julie Hearring and her husband, Tom, of Olney, Emily Dowell and her husband, Greg, of Barrington, Stephanie Fasone and her husband, Joe, of Oak Park, and Melissa Blank, of Chicago; brother, James Herman, of Bowbells, N.D.; brother, Dr. Dan Herman, of Vincennes, Ind.; sister, Marge Hughes, of La Jolla, Calif.; brother, Ray Herman, of Mahomet; sister, Alice Billman, of Barrington; sister, Jane Herman, of Grand Junction, Colo.; sister, Phyllis Harris, of Findlay, Ohio; grandchildren, Jamia Eimer and her husband, Bill, Allyson Padilla and her husband, Angel, Sophia Fasone, Eliza Dowell and Jimmy Dowell; and great-grandchildren, Madelyn Dunn and Ella Eimer.
