Trucker is Killed In This Area

Cullman, Ala – A 28-year-old Henderson, Kentucky truck driver apparently dozed at the wheel of his tractor-trailer rig this morning 6.1 miles South of here on Interstate Highway 65, and was killed in the crash that followed.

Donald Lee Hearring, of 224 Blue Ridge Dr.,Henderson, was the fatality in the one-vehicle wreck, which took place between 4:50 and 5:00 a.m. today.

Hearring was driving alone. His White tractor and trailer rig, loaded with clay pipe, was headed south on Interstate 65. It left the roadway and turned over in the middle of the four-lane, pinning Hearring in.

It was thought that he was killed instantly. His injuries included a broken neck.

Herring owned the tractor and trailer and it was leased to the Stone Trucking Co. of Dale Indiana. Total damage in the wreck was estimated at $2000.

The Highway Patrol report stated that probably Hearring went to sleep.

Donald Lee Hearring, 28, of Henderson, Kentucky passed away December 14, 1961, the result of a truck accident near Cullman, Alabama.

Donald was born February 13, 1933, the son of Willis "Bill" and Irene Goss Hearring.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Adams) Hearring and two children, Mike and Vicki.
