Edwin Dean Brooks, 69, Jefferson City, Missouri died Jan. 5, 2003, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born June 24, 1933, in Sailor Springs, Ill., a son of Otis E. and Idelle Miller Brooks. He was married Sept. 1, 1973, in Olney, Ill., to Jane Ann Drury, who survives at the home.

He was a graduate of Sailor Springs High School and attended Eastern Illinois University. He was editor for Rough Notes Publishing Company in Indianapolis for several years. He was media coordinator with the Missouri Division of Tourism until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of the Capital City Christian Church and an Air Force veteran.

Other survivors include: two sons, Anthony E. Brooks and Mark D. Brooks, both of Jefferson City.

Services at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. The Rev. Gary W. Baker will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society.
