Robert York, 58, of Lancaster, Illinois died June 11, 1992 at his residence. He was born March 2, 1934 in Lawrence County, the son of Howard York and the late Vivian (Spond) York. He married Wanda Stephens on July 11, 1954 in the Lick Prairie Christian Church, and she survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Steve of Friendsville and David York at home; two brothers, Danny of Friendsville and Kenneth York of Lancaster; a sister, Melba Fay Smith of Evansville, Indiana and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Dale E. York and a granddaughter.

Mr. York, a farmer, had been Road Commissioner for District No. 2 for several years. He was a member of the Lick Prairie Christian Church.

Funeral services held at Ingram Funeral Home with burial in Lick Prairie Cemetery.
