James B. Taylor Sr., 73, of Colchester, Illinois died Thursday February 14, 2008 at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb. Burial and graveside services in Olney at a later date.

Mr. Taylor was born March 19, 1934 in Olney, the son of Carlos P. Taylor and Marguerite McCord. He married Ann Weber on August 31, 1956 in Olney. She survives.

He was a retired Superintendent of Schools in Jasper County #1 and Colchester Unit District #180.

Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife; mother, Marguerite of Wesley Village in Macomb; sons, James B. Taylor Jr. and his wife, Karen of Oblong, Richard C. Taylor of Olney, Phillip B. Taylor Sr. and his wife, Mindy of Newton and Daniel M. Taylor of Tallahassee, Fla.; daughter, Joanie Herbert and her husband, Frank of Macomb; nine grandchildren and one brother, Robert P. Taylor and his wife, Deann of Gainesville, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his father.
