Paul Kenneth "Kenny" Scranton, 79, of Marion, Illinois  passed away Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at his residence.

He was born on Feb. 5, 1934, in Olney, to Weston C. Scranton and Irma (Gardiner) Scranton.

Mr. Scranton was retired after working for 37 years as a lineman for IBEW Local 702 in West Frankfort. He was a member of Grange Hall Freewill Baptist Church in Marion. Kenny loved to water ski, travel and he especially liked to collect trains.

He married Geraldine Grammer on Aug. 8, 1970, in Sikeston, Mo., and she survives. Survivors include six children, Kendra Priddy and her husband, Sean Priddy of Valdosta, Ga., Kenny Wayne Scranton and his wife, Carol of Bolingbrook; Kevin Scranton and his wife, Diane Scranton of Lisle; Timmy Steward of Phoenix; Todd Stewart and his wife, Kim Stewart of Murphysboro and Travis Stewart and his wife, Johnna Stewart of Creal Springs; a daughter-in-law, Traci Scranton of Fairfield; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Williams of Whitewater, Mo.

He was preceded in death by three sons, Dr. Dennis Scranton, Terry Stewart and Tracy Stewart; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Lucille Scranton; and two brothers Russell Scranton and Donald Scranton.

Services in Pettett Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kevin McNeely officiating. Burial  in Dutch Ridge Cemetery.
