Kenneth Robb

Kenneth Howland Robb, 80, of Vista, California, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Palomar Medical Center, Escondido, California. Present at his side were his sons Kenny, Kerry and Michael.

Ken was born on February 14, 1934, and lived all of his school years in Olney, IL, where his father, Kenneth R. Robb was employed with Pure Oil and his mother, Mary (Mickey) Robb was a homemaker. He graduated in the Class of 1952 from East Richland High School where he was a proud member of the school band.

Ken enlisted in the US Navy in 1952 and was assigned to the USS Lexington. He was very proud of his service to ship and country. Ken owned small businesses in Oregon and Texas. He also was a volunteer fireman in Chula Vista, CA, and later a reserve deputy for the San Diego Sheriffs Dept and a volunteer with the CA Highway Patrol.

Ken was also an ardent sports enthusiast. The Spurs, Dodgers and Chargers were his favorite teams but it was baseball that he most enjoyed playing. He coached many of his sons' baseball teams.

Ken is preceded in death by his wife, Pam Robb, in 2012. He is survived by his sisters Sandra K. Lyons (William) of Durham, NC, and Connie Sue Protsman (Joe) of Atmore, AL; ex wife Edith Robb; sons Kenny (Sherri), Kerry (Linda) and Michael; grandchildren Alan Robb (Mystica), Ashley Robb, Aaron Robb, Amy Robb, Allisa Liberto (Chris), Casey Robb, Austin Robb and Amanda Robb.

Services were held in San Diego. Interment at Miramar National Cemetery, San Diego.
