Carolyn A. Rainey, 62, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Olney died Wednesday, April 2, 1997 at Richland Memorial  Hospital.  Burial in Mesa Cemetery in Mesa, Ariz.

Rainey was born June 15, 1934 in Richland County, the daughter of Clark E. and Pauline Winifred (Hunt) Gayer. She married Larry Rainey September 23, 1956 in Olney.

She was a registered nurse and a member of the National Nurses Association.

She is survived by her mother, of Olney; her husband, of Mesa, Ariz.; two sons, Kevin Rainey of Gilbert, Az. and Craig Rainey of Tampa, Fla.; one daughter, Jill Porter of Mesa, Ariz.; one brother, Donald L. Gayer and wife, Joann of Claremont and eleven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father and a grandson.
