Phyllis L. Lathrop, 53, 1901 George St., Lawrenceville, Ill., died Tuesday, May 22, 1990 at St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville, Ind  Burial  in Crest Haven Memorial Park in Richland County.

Memorials can be made to the Lawrence County American Cancer Society or Troop 244 of the Boy Scouts of America in Lawrenceville.

Mrs. Lathrop was born in Petty Township in Lawrence County January 6, 1937, the daughter of Lawrence D. and Harriet L. (McKinney) Taylor. She married William Lathrop June 8, 1958 in Claremont. He lives in Lawrenceville.

She was assistant activity director for the United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville.

Surviving, in addition to her spouse, are one son, Robert Angelo of the Phillipines; one daughter, Twila Lathrop of Lawrenceville; one brother, Larry Taylor of Brown Mill, N.J.; two sisters, Donna Hovermale of Springfield, Carolyn Backler of Peoria Heights; her parents; and three grandchildren.
