Daniel C. GarveyDaniel "Dan" C. Garvey, 65, of Evansville, Indiana passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at his home due to respiratory failure.  Funeral services at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel with Sister Jennifer Miller officiating.  Burial at St. Joseph Cemetery where The Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct graveside services.

Dan was born August 19, 1945 in Olney, Illinois, son of Jerome D. and Loyola M. (Cullen) Garvey.

Dan was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, awarded the Purple Heart, a lifetime member of VFW 1114 and the Purple Heart Club. He retired from PPG after 25 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, bingo and spending time with his family.

Dan is survived by his wife of 37 years, E. Carol Garvey; daughters Shannon Juncker and husband Chris of Evansville, Amy Taylor and husband Tyrone of Newburgh; son Nathan Garvey and wife Jennifer of Evansville; grandchildren Stone and Chase Taylor, Laylani and Kalia Garvey; brother Steve Garvey and wife Diana of Indianapolis; sister Kathy Quinn and husband Ray of Palm Beach, FL; nieces and nephews.

Micki Hughes (1960)

I enjoyed knowing the Garvey family who were lovely people. They have my sympathy on Danny's death.

Danny's mother and my mother were the leaders of our Girl Scout troop, and Danny's older sister Kathy was a grade school friend before they moved to Evansville.
