Sandra Smith (Brandt)

Sandra J. (Smith) Brandt, 81, of Olney was welcomed home by her Heavenly Father on Thursday, May 26, 2022. She was born in Olney, IL on July 17, 1940, to Orien L. and Evelyn C. (Worrell) Smith. She married Fredrick W. Brandt on November 25, 1961, at the Congregational Christian Church in Olney, and they were blessed with 61 years of faithful and loving marriage.

Sandy was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Olney and was unwavering in her Christian faith sharing her love for Jesus both through word and example. A loving and devoted wife and mother, Sandy enjoyed caring for and spending time with her family, neighbors, and friends. She worked as a secretary at the Moravian Church and several local businesses in West Salem while raising her beloved sons and always made sure that her boys came first. Later in life Sandy worked several years as a hospital volunteer bringing care and comfort to patients and their families. She enjoyed decorating for the seasons, spending time outside, going for walks, and took great pride in her beautiful flower gardens.

She is survived by her loving husband Fred; sons Greg (Regina) of Sullivan, IL, and Rod (Jeanie) of Auburn, IL; treasured granddaughters Karlie, Kylie, and Ainslie; sisters Sally Weber of Newton, IL and Diana Hufford of Acworth, GA; sister-in-law Karen Smith of Olney, IL; brother-in-law Robert Miller of Newton, IL; and several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Sandy is preceded in death by her parents; stepfather Clarence Doty; sisters Doris Sink and Mary Ann Miller; brothers Larry Smith, Ron Smith, and Keith Smith; infant sister and brothers Charlotte, Norman, and James; sister-in-law Sandra Smith; brothers-in-law James Weber, Robert Hufford, and Howard Sink; and half-brother Buddy Smith.

Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney is in charge of arrangements with a private ceremony for family and close friends at Crest Haven Memorial Park Chapel in Claremont, IL with Pastor Jeff Bealmear of the First United Methodist Church in Olney officiating.

Phyllis Quick (Cummins) (1957)

So sorry to hear this such a sweet friend and always sent words of encouragement.You will be greatly missed.My prayers and thoughts for her family and friends.She always had a smile and loving way about her.You are now at peace and no more pain.Love you my dear friend.
