Joy Morgan (Main)

Joy Main, 71, of Warrensburg, Illinois died Monday, June 7, 2010, at Decatur Memorial Hospital after a long battle with cancer.  Burial in Illini Township Cemetery.

Joy was born June 6, 1939, in Effingham, the daughter of Oscar Sr. and Vivian (Bock) Morgan, who preceded her in death.

She graduated from East Richland High School in Olney in 1957 and from Olney Community College in 1967. She married Paul J. Main on January 10, 1958, in Danville.

She worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber Company for more than 30 years, retiring in 1999. She was active with Firestone Employees Credit Union, serving as president. She was a member of Friends of the Barclay Library in Warrensburg and was past president of that organization as well. She was also active with the Red Hats. She loved animals and helped to raise funds for various pet organizations.

Mrs. Main is survived by her husband, Paul J. Main; two children, Mrs. Vivian (Sam II) Bandy, of DeKalb, and Mrs. SuzC (Bob) Lynch, of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; grandchildren, Sam (Bella) Bandy III, of DeKalb, Paula Bandy, of Atlanta, Ga., Kirk Lynch, of Tampa, Fla., and Kaitlyn Lynch, of Tarpon Springs; great-grandchild, Sam Bandy IV, of DeKalb; brother, Oscar (Nancy) Morgan Jr., of Eagle, Idaho; niece and nephew, Kayla and Adam Morgan, of Eagle, Idaho; and many beloved friends.

Joy and Paul hosted four foreign exchange students in their home, Steve Potucek, of Sweden, Lukas Huesler, of Switzerland, Brauno Vargic, of Slovakia, and Jan Steinkrueger, of Germany. Joy loved travel. She and Paul visited each of their exchange students in their home countries.
