William "Bill" Houser, 82, of Flora, Illinois passed away on Monday, July 25, 2022 at Flora Gardens Care Center. Bill was born September 6, 1939 in Olney, Illinois, the son of William and Blondeana (Worrell) Houser.

Bill graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. In his professional career, he taught at Decatur Eisenhower High School, Indiana University, and Olney Central College. Bill had a great love for music, especially Dixie-Land Jazz and Gospel. He loved all the family dogs, always treating them like people, and he seemed to be the luckiest guy ever when it came to Bingo and pull tabs.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Kim (Jeff) Brown of Decatur, Illinois; grandson, Jarid (Colleen) Thompson of Tampa, Florida; grand-daughter, Kaylee (Jake) Sigmon of Mt. Zion, Illinois; 3 great-grandchildren, Remi, Brixton, and Dawson; nieces and nephews, Shelley Bateman-Steber, Sissy (Vic Colwell) Barche-Leggett, Chip (Paula) Barche, and Steve Bateman, all of Olney, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Pat Barche, Marianne Houser, and Jane Bateman.

Cremation Rites have been accorded.

A memorial service for Bill will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 5, 2022 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney with a visitation beginning one hour prior to service time.

Interment will follow the service at Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney. Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
