Karon V. McVaigh, 69, of Olney, died Sunday September 6, 2009 at her residence.  Funeral services at Blain Christian Church on Blain Road in Olney.

Mrs. McVaigh was born on November 3, 1939 in Richland County, the daughter of Norvan and Vena (Shipley) Fisher. She married Eugene "Dutch" McVaigh on November 15, 1968. He preceded her in death on September 15, 2006.

She was an avid gardener and proprietor of Karon McVaigh Hearing Service, serving the community for more than 30 years. She was a member of Elm Street and Blain Christian Churches, where she served God as a musician. She had a love for music and was a pianist for many years. She played for several churches and numerous special occasions, including nursing home ministry as a member of Grace Notes, blessing many with her gift of music.

Mrs. McVaigh is survived by her sons, John McVaigh and his wife Stacey of Malta, N.Y.; Ed McVaigh of Olney; and Kathy (McVaigh) Hixon and her husband, Tom of Claremont; and sisters, Lois Eckiss of Olney and Beth VanMatre of Rinard. She is the beloved grandmother of five.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene "Dutch" McVaigh, parents, and brother, J.C. Fisher.
