Bertha L. Branham, 64, of Olney died Friday, Aug. 27, 2004, at her home.

She was born Oct. 10, 1939, in Richland County, the daughter of Frank and Bertha Derler Coan.

A son, James, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Branham attended St. John's School of Nursing. She was a retired registered nurse and worked for the Illinois Department of Human Services for 31 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney, the American Legion Auxiliary and Eagles.

Survivors: two daughters, Christine (husband, Jon) Vinson of Norris City and Angela Cunningham of Noble; two granddaughters; five brothers, John Coan of Olney, Phillip Coan of Kalkaska, Mich., Lawrence Coan of Alba, Mich., Walter Coan of Allen, Mich., and Eugene Coan of Sumner; and two sisters, Julia Hawkins of Noble and Evelyn Sharrock of Campbell Hill.
