Robert Robinson

Robert Kelly Robinson, 68, of Traverse City, Mich. died Friday April 9, 2004 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  A memorial service held at Presbyterian Church in Traverse City, Mich. with Reverend Dr. Homer Nye officiating.

Mr. Robinson was born on January 30, 1936 in Claremont, the son of Norris and Vivian (Lydle) Robinson. He married Madeline Rose on September 16, 1965 in Clintwood, Va. She survives.

Formerly of Beulah, Jackson and East Lansing, Mich. and Vero Beach and Naples, Fla., Mr. Robinson had been raised in the Methodist Church. He was a graduate of East Richland High School in Olney and served his country honorably in the U.S. Army in Korea and the Far East. he later became the owner and president of Kelly Oil and Gas Inc., operator of Aztec Producing Co. and managing member of Sleeping Giant, L.L.C. He was a member of many organizations. He was associated with Traverse City Junior Golf Program, where the annual Bob Robinson Award was created in his honor. Mr. Robinson was an avid sports fan and had a passion for golf.

Mr. Robinson will be fondly remembered as honorable, giving, caring, fun-loving and genuine and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife of 38 years, Madeline Robinson of Traverse City, Mich.; two sons, Kevin Wayne Reimer and Kelly Douglas Robinson of Traverse City, Mich.; a grandson; three brothers, Charles Douglas Robinson and wife, Judy of Billings, Mont., Michael Norris Robinson and wife, Joanne of Olney and George Franklin Robinson and wife, Ann of Lansing, Mich.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
