Kathryn Elizabeth (May) Shoulders, 86, of Olney, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Helia Healthcare of Olney. Kathryn was born on October 30, 1936 in Kell, Illinois, the daughter of Mearl and Wilna (Wilson) May. She married Jackie Shoulders on September 3, 1955 in Olney, and he preceded her in death on October 7, 2014.

Katie and her husband, Jack, lived in Olney for the beginning part of their marriage. They moved their family to San Fernando Valley, CA around 1957. They visited Olney over the years, and eventually retired and moved back in 1992. Katie loved her family, and she spoiled her kid and grandkids. Katie was always on the move, and was always looking for the next home to live in. She always kept her husband busy with projects around the home. Katie will be dearly missed, and her grandkids will miss Grandma Kate taking food from their plates at any given time.

Kathryn is survived by her son, David (Christy) Shoulders; grandsons, Matthew and Christopher Shoulders of AZ, Zachary (fiancée Paige Prichard) Shoulders, of Cedar Rapids, IA, Joshua and Alex Shoulders, of Olney; brother, William May of Dunedin, FL; sister-in-law, Judy (Tom) Hough of Springfield, IL, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters, Phyllis Dalton and Nancy Leet.

A graveside service for Kathryn will be held at Noble Cemetery at a later date.
