Leola N. Brown (Otis)

Leola N. Otis, 66, of Mahomet died Friday (Jan. 24, 2003) at home.  Funeral services at Sangamon Valley Christian Center, Mahomet. The Rev. Brent Roberson will officiate. Burial in Mount Hope Mausoleum, Urbana.

Mrs. Otis was born May 5, 1936, in Olney, a daughter of Leo M. and L. Catherine Runyon Brown. She married Donald Otis on March 4, 1960, in Urbana. He survives.

Also surviving are a son, Michael Otis of Mount Sterling; a daughter, Lisa Otis of Mahomet; and a grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Mrs. Otis earned a degree from Greenville College, Greenville. She worked as a registered nurse at Carle Foundation Hospital for 43 years. She also taught nursing at Mercy Hospital, Urbana, and worked with Hospice programs. She was active in Urbana Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and Little League clubs. She played organ for several churches, was a member of the Mahomet Foursquare Church, and participated in retreats and Aglow. She enjoyed fishing and Christian music.
