Sandra Lee Brummett, 67, of Noble and formerly of Grand Junction, Colo., died Saturday, February 13, 2010, at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.  Burial was in Dundas Cemetery in Dundas.

Sandra was born March 17, 1942, in Sailor Springs, Illinois, the daughter of Cornelius C. and Hazel (Ayers) Tipton. She married Hilary E. Kocher and to this union was born one daughter, Brenda. At the end of this union, Sandra began her life with William T. Brummett, Sr., who she eventually married on April 19, 2007. He preceded her in death on October 27, 2008.

Sandra grew up in Dundas where she attended grade school and went on to be a 1961 graduate of East Richland High School.

While living in the Olney area, she worked as both a bookkeeper and certified nurses assistant for various employers. Sandra and William moved to Grand Junction, Colorado, in April of 1986. While residing there, she completed her training to become a Regional Center Technician, which allowed her to work for the State of Colorado, caring for special-needs adults until the return of her cancer in 2001.

She resided in Colorado until the death of her husband, William, at which time she moved to Noble, Illinois, to be near her daughter and help care for her grandsons, who were her pride and joy. Even though she was very ill with cancer, she managed to help on a daily basis with her grandsons up to the day before her death.

She will be remembered and sadly missed by her daughter, Brenda Summers and husband, Paul, of Noble; four grandsons, Connor, Charles D., William T., and Max, all of Noble; one brother, William Tipton and wife, Wanda, of Winter Haven, Florida; one sister, Wanda King and husband, Jim, of Pana, Illinois; four nephews; four nieces; and several great- and great-great- nieces and nephews.

Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, William; her parents; two brothers, Joe and Gene Tipton; and one sister, Margaret Tipton.
