Ardith Gwen Sterchi, 59, of Evansville, Ind. formerly of Olney died Saturday, March 29, 2003 at home surrounded by her family after a very courageous battle with cancer.  Burial in Crest Haven Cemetery near Claremont.

Mrs. Sterchi was born on August 1, 1943 in Olney, the daughter of Muriel and Marjorie (Houchin) Cutshall. She married Carl E. Sterchi on January 27, 1968 in Olney. He survives.

She was a homemaker and loving caregiver to many family members and foster children. She most recently was a sales representative for Sterchi Homes in Evansville, Ind. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Evansville, Ind. She was a graduate of East Richland High School in 1961. She later graduated from the School of Cosmetology in St. Louis, Mo.

Mrs. Sterchi is survived by her husband, Carl Sterchi of Evansville, Ind.; her parents, Muriel and Marjorie Cutshall of Evansville, Ind.; a sister, Sandra VanCleve of Irvington; a daughter, Sarah Klingler; two sons, Greg Sterchi and Brad Sterchi; eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
