Sally Dale (Hunt)

Sally Anne (Dale) Hunt, 81, of Olney died peacefully on October 19, 2014 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.  Sally has chosen to be cremated with no services with burial to follow at a later date at Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.

Sally was born September 25, 1933 in Olney, Illinois the daughter of Maurice C. Dale and Augusta M. (Stone) Dale. She eloped with the love of her life, Joe F. Hunt Sr. to Walter Hunt's residence in Valparaiso, Indiana on August 22, 1951.

Sally attended Olney schools. Sally and Joe both worked for Speith Studios in Olney, Illinois before moving to Louisville, KY in the early 1970's. After Joe's death in Cincinnati, Ohio, she returned to Olney.

She loved life to the fullest. Loved her kids and grandkids and always had an opinion on how they should do things. Loved flower gardening, collecting dolls, glassware, was a QVC fanatic and her beloved poodles, past and present. She hated cooking and was kidded about being the only one in Olney who dusted their stove. She will miss her classmates, coffee group, friends and nieces and nephews. She loved when they visited.

She is survived by her two children - Joe F. Hunt Jr. and wife Melinda of Olney, Susan Best of Kentucky. Three grandchildren - Joe F. Hunt III and C.P. Hunt of Olney, Megan Best of Kentucky. Three Great grandchildren - Isabell Hunt and Maggie Hunt of Greenwood, Indiana and Joe F. Hunt IV of Olney.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joe F. Hunt Sr. and brothers Jim Dale of Arkansas and Bill Dale of Olney.

She wants to be remembered with stories, laughter or donations made to the Shelter Friends of Olney.
