Vicki Myers (Cutlip), 67
Class of 1962
Our Schoolmate, Vicki Myers, of Morristown, NJ, died this past week, after an extended illness. Her service will be held next Saturday on Sept. 10, 2011 at 2 pm at her home in Morristown ,NJ. They have a large yard and will accommodate as many as necessary. Her husband, James Cutlip, is deceased.
Vicki leaves a brother, two daughters, a son, and 6 grandchildren. Daughter Dawn (Ken) Hancock with her daughter, Stella; daughter, Robin (Malcolm) Gaspard with her daughter, Cassandra; and, son, Justin Cutlip and his wife Shelly and their four children--Chris 10, Gabriella 8, Nick 6, and John 4 (Ages correct as of last April). Vicki also leaves her brother Gene Myers, (Class of 1966) of Glen Ridge, New Jersey.
And many friends.
Vicki joined our Tiger Alumni Center last February. When I saw her name, I connected with her immediately as I liked Vicki when we were students at ERHS. As I was a very shy youth, I didn’t tell Vicki that I liked her. I’d just visit her after school. Her parents operated a grocery store on the southeast side of Olney; there, I’d drop in to visit. My memory is that of a pretty teenager standing behind the counter near the back of the shop area.
Even this soon after her death, I'm hearing sweet comments about Vickie. She was, as we used to say, "A Class Act!"
When the adult Vicki joined our website, I shared my memories with her. She remembered that we had dated – and wanted me to send a greeting to my wife, Barbara. I told her that her class of 1962 -- and that of my wife, Barb’s -- was going to have its next reunion, September, 2012.
During our several messages, Vicki never mentioned being ill. She talked about packing as her house was for sale and that she might get back to Olney this past summer.
She was a retired business/special education teacher.
