Judy (Dowty) Umfleet, 78, of Olney, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Cox Medical Center in Branson, MO. At the time of her passing, she had been living in Branson for almost 3 years. She was surrounded with love and prayers by her 4 children, Dave, Dianna, Darla, and Doug.

Judy was born November 14, 1944 in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Lester and Lora (Doan) Dowty. She married Jerry Umfleet on November 22, 1962 in Claremont, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on November 22, 2004.

Judy was a member of the Olney First Methodist Church. She retired from Jabat Inc. in Olney as a controller. She was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR. She was an avid collector and enjoyed going to auctions. She loved cooking for her growing family, especially over the holidays. She is a graduate of East Richland High School.

Judy is survived by her son, Dave (Debbie) Umfleet of Branson, MO; daughter, Dianna (JR) Rademacher of Holland, IN; daughter, Darla (Donnie) Clark of Union, KY; son, Doug Umfleet of Olney; and Mandie (Scott) Bower of Olney; and 17 grandchildren including Dusty Trail, Blake Rademacher, Cody Rademacher, Megan Yanulaitis, Morgan Clark, Seth Shipman, Kaleb Shipman, Naaman Umfleet, Josiah Umfleet, Coy Shipman, Trevor, Ethan, Lauren, Christopher, Emma, Noah, and Levi Bower and 17 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Umfleet; parents Lester and Lora Dowty; brother, Larry Dowty; sister, Linda (Dowty) Gumble; granddaughter Kendra Helton; and 1 great-grandchild.

A funeral service will be held for Judy at 11:30 AM on Monday, May 8th 2023, at the First Methodist Church in Olney, with a visitation for friends and family beginning at 10:00 AM until service time

Interment will follow the service at Haven Hill Memorial Gardens in Olney.
