Alta Fern Muhs, 53, of Cross Lanes W. Va., formerly of Olney, died Wednesday, April 3, 1996, at her residence. She was born July 5, 1942 in Parkersburg, the daughter of Charles and Sylvia (Rogers) Farmer.

She was a waitress and a member of the McKinnon Presbyterian Church in West Virginia. She enjoyed reading, travel, dancing, and spending time with her nine grandchildren.

She is survived by her mother and step-father, Sylvia and Loy Luther; two sons, Steven C. Muhs of Dillon, Texas and Philip Loy Muhs of Dallas, Texas; two daughters, Jacqualine Ley and Cheri Kaser; two brothers, Eugene Luther and Darrell Luther; a sister, Diane Luther; and nine grandchildren.

Memorial services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney, with Rev. Floyd Haumesser, Jr., officiating. Burial in the Walnut Grove Cemetery in rural Parkersburg.
