Betty Joy Likens, 54, of Springfield, Mo., formerly of Olney, died at 11:30 p.m. Monday, April 28, 1997, at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Mo.

Likens was born July 29, 1942, in Hammond, Ind. the daughter of Millard and Edith Marie (Stout) Likens.

She was retired from Cox Medical Systems in Springfield, Mo.

She is survived by special friends, Peggy Gwennape, of Springfield, Mo., and Dave and Debbie Taylor, of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Barbara Kapper, of Olney, and Bonnie Switalski, of Evansville, Wisc.; two nieces, Desiree A. Kapper, of Ft. Lauderville, Fla., and Karen Dramer, of Phoenix, Ariz.; one nephew, Eric Kapper, of Olney; and one great-niece, Brittany Taylor Kramer.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant twin sister.
