Sharon Hulfachor (Leichtenberg)

Sharon E. Leichtenberg, 62, of Downs, Illinois died at 5:13 p.m. Friday Feb. 13, 2004 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington. Services at Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington, the Rev. Don Crittenden officiating. There will be private interment.

Sharon was born Dec. 4, 1941, in Sumner, the daughter of Bert and Edna Miller Hulfachor. She married Michael Bettisch in 1961 at Bloomington. She married Robert J. Leichtenberg on April 23, 1993, at Bloomington. He survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Scott (Janice) Bettisch and Chad (Gwynne) Bettisch, both of Downs; two grandchildren, Jon Bettisch and Samantha Bettisch; one sister, Shirley (Lyle) Cagley, Bloomington; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Guy; one brother, Lloyd Hulfachor; one half brother, Ben Satterthwaite; and one half sister, Mary Fleming.

Sharon worked for State Farm Insurance Cos. as a secretary for more than 20 years, retiring Jan. 1, 2004. Sharon was a member of the Cowboy Church in Farmer City. She enjoyed going to flea markets, garage sales and country music. She most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
